Cast your mind back to the close of the 2020 British Superbike Championship and you'll remember that there were five riders all battling for the top spots on the podium - you know you've got the right team on your side when both of your riders find themselves in that group!
The McAms Yamaha Team have become both regular and well-loved faces of the Muc-Off Moto family over the last few seasons, and there's no stopping us there. Made up of two of the BSB's finest riders, Jason O'Halloran and Tarran MacKenzie, McAms are ramping up the pace this year and going for a 1-2 in the championships, we just cant wait to see which way around it is! So let's meet the riders...
O'Halloran spent the early days of his career competing in his home lands of Australia before bursting onto the British scene making his BSB debut in 2009. He's made his way from SuperSport into SuperStock 100cc and then back into the BSB in 2015. Throughout his career, he's picked up over 15 podiums which peaked last year with a closely-competed second place in the championships.
He may be walking in the footsteps of legendary three-time BSB Champion dad Niall Mackenzie, but by no means is he walking in his shadow. Taz has been making a name for himself in Road racing since 2006, beginning his career in Mini Moto's and quickly progressing into the mature rider he is now. In 2016, ten years after his first taste of racing, he made his debut in the British Supersport Championship - claiming the title along with five victories and ten podiums, no small feat for a 20 year old rookie! 2021 will be his third year with the McAms team, and after taking a respectable 5th place last season, this year he has his eyes on the podium. We can't wait to see it!
