What a weekend it was at Circuit of the Americas for Jorge Martín, delivering a standout paerformance in Austin with a 1st place finish in the Sprint Race and an impressive 2nd place in Sunday’s Grand Prix.

Sprint Race – Martín Delivers Last-Lap Masterclass
Jorge Martín returned to the top step in spectacular fashion with a stunning last-lap victory in Saturday’s Sprint, marking his first Sprint win with Aprilia.
The race was packed with drama from the very beginning. Marc Márquez crashed out early after contact with Fabio Di Giannantonio, immediately shaking up the front of the field. Up ahead, Francesco Bagnaia took control of the race and began to build a gap, looking comfortable out front.
But Martín had other plans.
Running a medium rear tyre—a different strategy to his rivals—he initially sat in the chasing pack as Bagnaia stretched his advantage. As the laps ticked down, however, Martín’s tyre choice came into its own. With just a couple of laps to go, he began rapidly closing the gap.
There was more late-race drama too, as Marco Bezzecchi crashed out from second place, promoting Martín into the key chasing position.
By the final lap, the gap had vanished.
Martín hunted Bagnaia down and made his move at Turn 12, executing a clean but aggressive block pass that saw the two nearly touch. From there, he held his nerve through the final sector to cross the line and take a sensational victory.
Behind him, Bagnaia was forced to settle for second, while Pedro Acosta completed the podium after a strong ride.
The drama didn’t stop at the flag—Super pumped up after this epic race, Jorge crashed on the warm-down lap during a celebratory wheelie. Thankfully, he walked away unhurt, able to fully enjoy a huge and emotional win.

Grand Prix Race – Strong Fight to P2
Sunday’s Grand Prix saw Martín back in the fight at the front once again, capping off a hugely successful weekend.
The race was won by Marco Bezzecchi, who surged into the lead after early drama and controlled the race from the front despite minor damage to his bike.
Behind him, Martín delivered a measured and consistent performance, battling at the front and securing second place, adding another podium and valuable championship points.
On a demanding and physical circuit like COTA, it was a ride that showed maturity and consistency—backing up Saturday’s victory with another top result.
