Formulated to maximise efficiency, durability and low wear in a single dropper wax, delivering a clean, fast and quiet drivetrain.

Developed in-house at the unique Muc-Off R&D Lab, Dark Energy is the result of four years of testing across 90+ formulations, equating to over 8,500 hours of lab and independent machine testing with over 100,000km of real-world riding by our in-house test team and pro-team riders.

A blend of cutting edge, highly refined waxes which includes a plant-derived, inherently biodegradable wax. It forms a durable dry-film barrier designed for consistent very high performance in dry and damp conditions.

CLEAN
Thoroughly clean drivetrain (chain, cassette, chainrings and pulley wheels) and ensure drivetrain is fully dry before application.

Please note For a new chain, the manufacturers grease must be thoroughly removed before application.

SHAKE
Shake bottle very well before use.

APPLY
Apply one drop of chain wax to the inside of each link on the lowest section of the chain, starting at the quick link. Complete 2 full laps of the chain.

GEARS
Slowly run through the gears, coating each cog on the cassette.

DRY
Leave to dry for AT LEAST 12 hours before riding, ideally 24 hours in cooler climates for best results.

RE-APPLY
When riding in dry conditions, once the wax has worn off and the chain starts becoming louder, simply wipe down with a microfibre cloth and re-apply. If you have been caught out riding in wet conditions, clean and re-lube immediately after riding to maintain peak performance.

STORAGE
Store in a cool dry place, out of direct sunlight or a direct heat source in a temperature range of 5-30 degrees Celsius. Do not allow to freeze.

It’s important this Chain wax is used in accordance with these instructions to ensure you get the maximum performance benefits. It is intended to only be used in dry to damp conditions.
