  • How To

    Dark Energy Chain Wax Care Kit – Directions for Use

    For best results, start with a thoroughly clean and fully dry drivetrain before applying Dark Energy Chain Wax.

    • Shake the Chain Wax Cleaner bottle vigorously before use.
    • Spray Chain Wax Cleaner over the drivetrain, including:
      • Chain
      • Cassette
      • Chainrings
      • Derailleurs
    • Leave for up to 1 minute, then agitate thoroughly using the included Chain Brush to help remove factory grease, old wax, dirt and grime.
    • Rinse thoroughly with water, ensuring all Chain Wax Cleaner and loosened contamination has been completely removed.
    • Dry the drivetrain thoroughly. Use the included Microfibre Cloth to remove excess water from the chain and drivetrain. Ensure everything is fully dry before applying wax.
    • Shake the Dark Energy Chain Wax bottle very well before use.
    • Starting at the quick link, apply one drop of Dark Energy Chain Wax to each chain link, completing 2 full laps of the chain.
    • Slowly run through the gears to help coat each cog on the cassette.
    • Leave to dry for AT LEAST 12 HOURS before riding—ideally 24 hours in cooler climates for best results.

    • Re-Application & Maintenance:

      • Dry conditions: Once the wax has worn off and the chain starts becoming louder, wipe the chain down with the Microfibre Cloth and reapply Dark Energy Chain Wax.
      • Wet conditions: Clean the drivetrain with Chain Wax Cleaner and reapply Dark Energy Chain Wax immediately after riding to maintain peak performance.
      • Deeper cleaning: Between wax cycles, use Chain Wax Cleaner to remove old wax residue. Fully dry the drivetrain before reapplying Dark Energy Chain Wax.

    • Storage:

      • Store products in a cool, dry place.
      • Keep away from direct sunlight and direct heat sources.
      • Store within a temperature range of 5–30°C.
      • Do not allow Dark Energy Chain Wax to freeze.
