We’re proud to announce a new three-year partnership with Forestry England, bringing together two organisations with a shared passion for protecting the places riders love most.Riding has always been about more than the bike. It’s about the trails, forests and communities that make every ride possible.
Through this partnership, we’re taking Project Green beyond our own four walls and putting it to work in the places that matter to riders.

Giving Back to the Places We Ride

At the heart of the partnership are two key areas: community trail stewardship and woodland restoration.
Together with Forestry England, we’ll deliver community volunteering days focused on mountain bike trail maintenance at Moors Valley Country Park and Forest. These sessions will provide opportunities to get involved directly and help care for the trails used by the riding community.
The partnership also builds on our existing support for riding destinations across the nation’s forests, including Whinlatter Forest and the Forest of Dean, where we have direct sponsorship agreements, as well as Watchmoor Bike Park.

Restoring Woodlands for the Future

Alongside trail stewardship, the partnership will support the planting of approximately 3,600 native broadleaf trees over three years.
The first phase of restoration work will begin at Vernditch, an ancient woodland in North Dorset that was historically replanted with non-native conifers. Replanting with native species will help boost biodiversity and create new habitats for wildlife.
Planting at Vernditch is planned to begin in winter 2026/27. Further planting is planned for 2027/28 and 2028/29 at locations agreed by Muc-Off and Forestry England.
Species will include oak, hazel and hornbeam, with professional aftercare helping the trees establish and thrive for years to come.

More Than Planting Trees

This partnership is about action, community and shared responsibility.
Each year, Muc-Off employees will take part in hands-on conservation work, including winter tree planting and summer woodland management activities. We’ll also work with Forestry England to create opportunities for the wider riding community to get involved.
For us, the partnership is a chance to take Project Green into the forests and trails that fuel riding culture. It’s about giving back through practical action, whether that means maintaining trails, planting trees or helping more people connect with conservation.

A Shared Responsibility

Forestry England cares for the nation’s forests for people, nature and climate. By combining its expertise with Muc-Off’s connection to cycling and mountain biking, we can help the riding community support these special places and contribute to their long-term care.
Together, we aim to create a positive legacy for riders, forests, wildlife and future generations.

This partnership marks an important next step, taking that commitment beyond our own operations and into the places that matter to our community. It brings together Muc-Off energy and Forestry England’s expertise to support trail stewardship, community volunteering and woodland restoration across the nation’s forests.
